You were made to live deeply loved--even in the midst of emotional pain, worry, or conflict. But too often when we're overwhelmed or hurting, we end up hiding our hurts and hopes, settling for shallow relationships. What's missing? Empathy.

Empathy is often misunderstood, even maligned. It's not coddling or rescuing. True empathy is understanding and care that respects God's truth and empowers personal responsibility. It's what your soul is longing for, and it's how Jesus relates to you. In
Deeply Loved, Drs. Bill and Kristi Gaultiere blend engaging true stories with compelling insights from Scripture and psychology to help you:

· Trade self-judgment for God's empathy and grace
· Release worry, comfort emotional wounds, and overcome distress
· Practice the Four A's of Empathy to care for yourself and others

Empathy is life-giving and life-changing. It raises your emotional intelligence, cultivates healthier emotions, heals relationships, and draws you closer to Jesus. And with the help of this book, it's easier than you think.

"Reading this book is like sitting with close friends who truly get what you're going through."--
Dr. Tim Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)

"Bill and Kristi Gaultiere have provided an oasis of care in the 'empathy desert.'"--
John Ortberg, teacher at BecomeNew; author of Steps

"This book isn't just inspiring--it's practical, offering heartfelt guidance and tools to help you."--
Alli Worthington, entrepreneur; author of Remaining You While Raising Them

Reading Deeply Loved feels like both therapy and a big hug from Jesus. I cannot recommend it enough! What makes this book special is the way it weaves together Scripture, psychology, and practical application. Bill and Kristi Gaultiere draw from decades of experience as Christian counselors and spiritual directors—and it shows. They write with gentleness and Christ-centered wisdom that helps you feel seen, understood, and strengthened.

I especially appreciated their framework for empathy and the way they unpack common struggles like anxiety, loneliness, anger, codependency, and relational conflict with such clarity and love.

Unlike many books in this space, Deeply Loved stays fully anchored in Jesus and the truth of Scripture. It avoids shallow, feel-good advice or watered-down faith and instead offers a trustworthy, biblically sound framework for emotional, relational, and spiritual growth. This is a safe, reliable resource for Christians—one that will point you deeper into devotion to Jesus while equipping you with tools that actually work. That balance of biblical truth and psychological expertise is rare, and it makes this book stand out in a crowded field.

One of the most eye-opening parts for me was the Gaultieres' teaching on empathy. The authors explain that true empathy isn’t coddling or excusing sin—it’s a God-honoring blend of truth and care that fosters healing, growth, and responsibility. It creates space for God’s love to meet us in our deepest need and then empowers us to reflect that same love to others.

By the end, you’ll walk away with greater emotional clarity, practical skills for empathetic listening (to yourself and others), and a renewed sense of being deeply known and loved by Jesus. If you’ve ever longed to feel more connected to God, to your inner life, or to the people around you, this book will meet you in that longing. It’s deeply practical, deeply biblical, and—as the title says—deeply loving. I know I’ll return to it again and again. Trust me, this book is a must-read. You and the people in your life will be glad you did!
